Beginners Archery is a sport as well as an art. With proper coaching archery can help you to develop good body structure, improve your stamina, strength and endurance. Increase your concentration levels and your self-confidence. Archery is relatively low-impact sport and is suitable for all age group. A common misconception is that archers must possess good eye sight and strong muscle, this is not true, and it is often argued that a poorer vision will in fact improve shooting! In terms of muscle, modern recurve and compound bows are very efficient at delivering energy to arrows and are generally speaking not very physically demanding to the archers. Depends on your strength, we will get you started in archery with our beginner bows (weight range between 16lbs to 30lbs). At ULA we have designed well-thought, scientific four-week beginners¡¯ course, the course will cover basics of archery, safety of shooting, correct technique, basic mental skills, and the course is usually followed by a friendly competitions. Our coach Christine is an ArcheryGB level 2 coach, she competes at national level and has great knowledge in both recurve and compound archery. In addition, we have many very experienced archers to teach you the basics of archery. As beginners you will also be able to regularly attend county and national competitions, most competitions have novice category so you will be competing with beginners from all over the UK. We also promote social events regularly, so whether you enjoy competition or not, we hope you will enjoy your stay with us.
